Simple to learn. A lifetime to perfect.
Towers of Hanoi is one of those rare puzzles where the rules click almost immediately. Three pegs, a stack of disks, one simple constraint. Most people can solve it within a few minutes of picking it up.
What keeps people coming back is the question that follows. Can you do it perfectly? Can you match the optimal move count? Can you do it faster than last time? This version was built to answer that question as honestly as possible, with a centisecond timer, optimal move tracking, and personal bests saved for every level. Free to play. No downloads. No accounts required.
The game features 12 levels of increasing difficulty. Level 1 starts with 2 disks, simple enough to learn the mechanic in under a minute. Each level adds one more disk and the complexity doubles with every addition. Level 12 presents a 13 disk puzzle requiring a minimum of 8,191 moves to solve perfectly.
Levels unlock sequentially. Complete a level to unlock the next one. Stars are awarded based on how close you came to the optimal solution. Three stars requires a perfect run, every move exactly right, nothing wasted.
This game is free and will always be free. If you enjoy it and want to help keep it running and improving, a small donation makes a real difference.
